ביוגרפיה

Amit Dubester, born 1990 in Kfar Saba, Israel. Amit studied in Tel Aviv with Mr. Gan Lev. Recieved AICF scholarships in 2005-2009 as a member of the Kfar Saba and Tel Aviv Saxophone Quartets, and with distinction in 2009-2014 as a solo saxophone player. 

Amit has recieved grants and scholarships from the French Embassy in Israel, as well as from the "Tzfunot Tarbut" Association.

Between 2008-2011, Amit had served as an "Outstanding Musician" in the IDF.  

Amit has participated in international masterclasses, including those in France (XASAX saxophone quartet) (Mr. Nicolas Prost, Saint-Maur), USA (University of Oregon, Prof. Idit Shner), Switzerland (Prof. Marcus Weiss, Hochschule fur Musik Basel), and in Israel (Prof. Ken Radnofsky, NEC).  

Amit has played with the IPO, the ISO, the Jerusalem symphony orchestra, the Campus- Ramat Hasharon symphony orchestra, as well as in the Israel Festival in 2009, as a member of Elysium ensemble, directed by Mr. Gil Shohat.  

Recently, he has performed as a soloist in the Israeli Music Holiday 2013, playing the Saxophone Concerto by Israeli composer and conductor Shimon Cohen.  

Amit has played under the batons of Maestro Zubin Mehta, Asher Fisch, David Stern, Frederic Chaslin, Gil Shochat, Omer M. Wellber, Alessandro Tortato and Ian Shu.  

Together with Israeli percussionist Oded Geizhals, Amit has founded in 2010 a saxophone and percussion ensemble, which specialized in Contemporary music. The ensemble performed music by the best Israeli young composers working nowadays, along with conventional and well known music by composers from all over the world.  

Amit is currently studying in the Strasbourg conservatoire in the class of Mr. Philippe Geiss.

Recently, Amit has won a competition in Strasbourg, “Concours de Jeunes Talents”, following which he has played the famous Rhapsodie by Claude Debussy with the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra on May 2014.

Amit Dubester was  awarded a scholarships by Zefunot Culture in 2014 to enable him to study in France.
