ברניקה גליקסמן



Hailed by Maestro Zubin Mehta as “…highest level of virtuosity, combined with passion, temperament and a true understanding of style and architecture… ” and described by the press as “Hypnotic” performer, Berenika Glixman emerged as one of the leading pianists among the young generation of Israeli artists.

Born in the Soviet-Union in 1984 and immigrated to Israel in 1991, Berenika Glixman performed as soloist with The Israel Philharmonic, The Forth Worth Symphony at the PianoTexas Van Cliburn International Festival, The Bucharest Philharmonic, The Bulgarian National Symphony, The Jerusalem Symphony, The Tel Aviv Soloists Orchestra, The Israel Chamber Orchestra, The Buchmann-Mehta School of Music Symphony under Zubin Mehta among many others.

Berenika performed in such prestigious concert halls as Teatro Colon (Buenos Aires, Argentina), Beijing Concert Hall (Beijing, China), Mann Auditorium (Tel Aviv, Israel),Royal Academy Concert Hall (London, UK), Bass Hall (Cleveland, OH, USA), Performing Arts Concert Hall (Hong Kong), Beijing Central Conservatory Hall (Beijing, China), Gran Rex (Buenos Aires, Argentina), RDS Hall (Dublin, Ireland),Teatro del Sodre (Montevideo, Uruguay), TNUA Concert Hall (Taipei, Taiwan) and others.

Berenika intensively toured the Far East and Latin America involving TV& Radio performances for such networks as RTHK4 (Hong Kong), Radio Nacional (BA, Argentina), TV de Publica (BA, Argentina) among many others

Berenika is an experienced chamber musician and a founding member of the successful “MultiPiano” group (TLV, Israel).

In 2010 Glixman was called to replace pianist Yuja Wang as soloist with the Israel Philharmonic in a last minute notice. She performed Prokofieff's 2nd piano concerto to critic and public acclaim for IPO’s prime subscriber series in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa. Following her success she was invited to play also Bartok 2nd piano concerto under Zubin Mehta in 2011.

Berenika is a prize winner at the 2011 Arthur Rubinstein International Master Competition, the 2008 Van Cliburn International Festival Concerto Competition, the 2008 Young Artist Competition of the Israeli Radio, the 2005 Isidor Bajic International Competition in Serbia and numerous other prizes and awards in Israel and abroad.

Berenika Glixman graduated and post-graduated from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University with distinction. Currently she is a fellow of the prestigious Colton Foundation and studies with Prof. Tomer Lev.

A recipient the America-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships since 1997, Glixman participated in master classes with today's leading artists, such as Murray Perahia, Richard Goode, Emanuel Ax, Nikolai Petrov, Daniel Pollack, Yefim Bronfman and many others. Formerly a student of Daniel Gortler and Lily Dorfman, Glixman began studying the piano at the age of 10 and graduated with honors from the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts and the Givatayim Conservatory.
